4th January 2001
The early part of my dream involves me being in 'my' room. The room in the dream is exactly the same, less the furnishings, as the room as I had when I was younger. The room next door to my current room now occupied by my brother. This is 'my' room in a large number of my dreams I have I now realise.
There is a set of I think three webcams together by the door filming various parts of the room. Over the next three hours when the webcams are on the net I mainly lie on the bed, although I get changed, my brother comes in and I find an unused but unwrapped condom under the bed, all of course captured by camera I realised these three hours later.
In the next dream sequence I am leaving an office much like the office where I work at the moment, have signed out like I have to normally at work and wandered out into an area very much like the one around Euston. In fact some of the buildings in the dream are real buildings, but there are many different buildings around and different routes and it takes hardly any time to walk between places.
I have been assigned to do a traffic survey or something similar and leave at 1 (ish). The office doesn't really expect me back in, and I don't really intend to go back for the afternoon. The first thing I do is get an egg mayonnaise sandwich and wander about for a bit.
About 3:30 or 4 I have done what I have intended to do and although I could go home, I feel guilty about doing that and head back to work. The building I enter bares no resemblance to anywhere I know. It has a very roomy foyer and reminds me of being at a school. There is a notice on a free standing board (an easel type thing!) that says 'eat and drink healthily' on multiple lines. I in pencil decide to write something on the notice. I'm sure it was important, but unrelated but I don't recall what precisely.
I get part way through writing whatever I wanted to write and change my mind. I use a rubber to erase what I've written very well. In the middle of the erasing I am stopped by a middle-aged woman wearing a turquoise outfit. She complains that I have written on the signs and steals my pencil and intends to snap it in two. I rescue the pencil but she steals my biro and snaps that instead.
At this point I am very enraged. Up until this point I would have apologised and promised to sort the matter out. However, the snapping of my pen goes too far. She has refused to let me fix the problem with my immaculate erasing saying that it can be covered up with something else, but then goes on to talk about the poor children deprived of the notice and that won't eat or drink properly now. This does nothing to quell my rage and I take the two pieces of biro that have started to leak and empty a large proportion of the ink over the woman's top.
Leaving the office again I head into 'Euston' once more. I remember being three stations west of Euston, but having got there very fast. All of a sudden for a moment I am looking through the eyes of Bungle. The bear from Rainbow the childrens TV programme. I am being perused by zippy and I need to escape. To do this I put a sandwich on the ground to hopefully slow him down then run off round a corner down an alleyway the size of a cars width. I'm by a pub I believe.
Next thing I know I'm me again and thinking that I have seen that episode of Rainbow in the past. I decide again to go back to the office for some reason. The office is the same in appearance as earlier on in the dream. I try and sign into the book, but there isn't enough spaces to sign in and out. I'm told by a woman that if I want to sign in and out again it will cost me 80p each time I want to do it. I notice at this time my old geography teacher from senior school is waiting to sign the book.
This time I decide to leave and leave for good!
Dream ends.
