1st October 2002

And here we are in the tenth month of the year already. That means we are three quarters through the year bar the shouting. The start of the year really doesn’t seem that long ago to be honest. I wonder if this is because my life is flying past much too quickly, having little to stand out in recent weeks and months or if it is because I am getting old, or for a whole different reason.

We have another new addition to the house. A new lil kitty cat. Her name was Isis but I think she is going to be renamed Sushi. You’ll note the slightly different origins of the names. We nearly lost her on Sunday, merely a day after her arrival as she escaped through the back door. She was recovered though. She is a quiet but happy little thing that sheds white fluff everywhere. We’ll see how it goes with this one...

We won the pub quiz on Sunday this week, although we did have to bring in the big guns. Mum, dad, Del’s mum and dad along with five more and I. That made ten of us and we could only get to equal first with a group of two ladies. Sad isn’t it?

I bought a new Video Recorder last night. A shiny Sony one. It was a nightmare to install. In that I could see what needed to be done but the TV and video just wasn’t doing it until the twentieth attempt of doing the same thing when it all worked swimmingly. New technology, doesn’t it irritate you. Just got to dispose of the last one now and hope the wires that are dangling around don’t turn into a death trap.

I popped into Colchester for a bit on Saturday night. The plan was just to do something different and it was different. Paul and I went to Emmy’s house where Paul was trying to get in her friend Jo’s good books.

Other than that the last week has been the same old same old. Plenty of work, far too little play. I’m looking forward to the day I resign :)
