7th March 2002
From going from being lazy at writing journals in January to pretty good in February, it looks like March is going to be another 'January'. I meant to write an entry on Monday but time escaped me and now it is becoming late Thursday afternoon.
I don't think I have written anything since Monday last week, so here goes from there. Monday last week was a nice day as I got home the earliest I remember ever getting home from work, not fascinating to read I know but quite a nice change for me.
Tuesday I got home to a massive power-cut in the area where I live. I knew something was odd when some of the shops at the bus stop were not open, it wasn't until walking down the main road that I realised it was completely dark everywhere. The road next to mine had power but it wasn't restored for a further two hours. I was thinking that I should take a photograph of the street in complete blackness as it happens so rarely. Then realised that a picture of pitch black probably wouldn't come out too well.
Wednesday went quite quietly past with the usual badminton taking place and Thursday was going the same way until ten minutes before I was due to go home and noticing that the work webserver wasn't working properly. It was two hours later before I left for home.
Friday was tough and I ended up going to the Pitcher and Piano in Liverpool Street with a few friends. I also saw two people I went to college with and someone I went to school with, that I probably haven't seen since I left the academic institutions in question.
I went from having nothing to do on Saturday to three offers in the space of a few moments. I decided to go to Colchester and spent the evening wandering around the bars at the university, including the new one next to Level 2 that I hadn't been in before. I ended up in Level 2 in fact, to what seemed to be heavy metal night. It wasn't the classic night out but was suitably enjoyable.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and now Thursday have all come and gone without any real incident. I again had to wait on hold on the phone when calling an American Internet company. There is also the worst on-hold music. You know who you are!!
Which leaves me back where I am now. Plenty lined up but I think that is best saved for another day when you need boring.
