8th October 2002
Yesterday the 7th October seemed a long way into the month of October, now today the 8th seems barely a drop in the water. I am of course waiting for the magic 21st October to arrive. That is a mere 13 days away, however it includes a whole Monday to Friday at work, plus the rest of this week. Today is Tuesday and it is so not near the end of the week enough. However even Saturday may not provide the relief that I would like it to as I will most likely be on a train on the way up to Aylesbury for much of the day on work related business. The truth however is that it is the thought of my impending time off from work that is keeping me going in this job. The thought of extra work doesn’t exactly fill my head with thoughts of joy.
It has been another pretty quiet week. Apart from badminton last week there was nothing to distinguish one day from another. On Friday I saw the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding with Sarah and Julie. The film was ok and it made a change from going to the pub. Others were invited but didn’t arrive. The film was released in Australia in February but only just got here, enough to make you sigh huh?
Saturday was a day spent mainly in bed. I didn’t wake up until gone two. Sat around for a bit and promptly fell asleep again for another ninety minutes. In the evening I ended up going round to Robs for a while and we watched the film ‘Unbreakable’, a Bruce Willis film I’d never heard of. That wasn’t too bad either. I then went home and stayed up until 4am rediscovering Roller coaster Tycoon and learning that a new one will be released sometime soon.
Sunday pretty much drifted by, I talked to Erin instead of going out and doing anything else, which to be fair was far more exciting than anything else I was thinking of doing. The evening was spent playing the pub quiz. The parents had their own team this week and they won. The youngsters were doing okay in the first half... and then it all went wrong. Still dad was happy.
And now I’m back at work. I don’t know where all the stuff to do comes from. I really don't.
