It is Valentines day. so what has been happening in my world. Well I got the same number of Valentine cards as I sent and for once it wasn't zero.
Thanks Erin, I love you.
It has been a strange couple of days. Today I have been working hard at work - doing an hours unpaid overtime to get stuff done so I don't have to do it tomorrow. Two people that haven't done any work today are Rob and
Sarah who have disappeared to Oxford together. Not as romantic as Rome where I think they went last year, but then again they were a couple then. Are they going to get together again? Time will tell I'm sure.
Yesterday was a nightmare for traveling to work. I traveled to Upminster on the District line to get a c2c train to West Ham to get a Jubilee line train to Waterloo, to get a South West Train to Wimbledon to get another District line train. Never done that route before (invented on the fly) and probably won't be doing it again!
I got myself enough energy together to head to McDonalds in Wandsworth. A trek at the best of times, but yesterday I was inspired enough to wander over the bridge in the force 10 gale (or so it felt). This used to be a treat in summer. If only the 'restaurant' were nearer, though I guess it burns off all the calories!
Then last night West London including the office was hit by a power cut. Nothing too serious happened for me - I
hadn't lost any work, the back-up systems worked as designed and I got to hear the office without the sounds of a dozen or more computers and other equipment. Everything came back on-line quite quickly this morning - just the usual
tweaks were required.
I'm glad I wasn't trapped in a lift as someone was in our building and probably in many other buildings and I hear that many people were trapped in trains underground from the news report I read today.
Add the weirdness of only three of us at badminton made yesterday a weird day.
I guess I should head to bed now. Just one more day til the weekend. It barely seems five minutes since the last weekend yet the month is going slowly. I need another pay day. And some sleep. Goodnight.
