14th August 2002

I guess it has been a week since I last updated my journal. Wednesday last week seems so much more than a week ago.

I can’t really remember what I did last Wednesday, nothing significant I’m sure. On Thursday I woke up feeling grumpy and not really with it at all. This was something that lasted throughout the day, for no real reason as far as I could tell. I should have been happy for my birthday weekend but I was not, everything got to be a hundred times more than it normally would have done. I don’t think I was a particularly fun person to be around as a group of us discussed Fantasy League plans in the Goose by Russell Square.

I had taken Friday off work. I got up and played with my new toys and opened my cards etc. I watched the Star Trek Episode entitled ‘Yesterdays Enterprise’, all in all I was having a good day. I even made my peace with T-Mobile, even though I think they are evil, I have no wish to destroy them any more. So I headed out to catch the train that would take me to Colchester. Only when I got to the bus stop I realise that I didn’t actually have my Travelcard to get me there. So I had to trek back and get it.

When I finally got to Colchester the battery in my mobile was dead, but I was still in a good mood. After a trip to Wetherspoons it was time to head out for the evening and the venue was Jaks in Basildon. I had a great time and when we got back I carried on to Tims place where we chatted and watched some TV. I finally got to sleep after 5am.

Saturday was a much more leisurely affair. When I finally got up it wasn’t too long before we headed out to see Men In Black 2. the film that is just ahead in this summers publicity stakes. The film wasn’t too bad, but nothing to rave over.

Saturday evening was quite quiet and sedate, with a group of us just hanging out at Robs place. We did pop into Emmys house warming party for a while but didn’t stay too long.

On Sunday I was up and out early making it back to Romford by 1pm for lunch with a few friends. This was fun and Arsenal won the Community Shield "the traditional curtain raiser for the new season" beating Liverpool 1-0. In the evening we did a pub quiz and as tradition dictates, we didn’t win.

This week has been far from fun at work, with plenty of grumpy people to deal with, and the request that I get into the office 15 minutes earlier each day. So as a result there will be lots more leaving at 6 on the dot and hour-long lunch breaks me thinks. That and a survival attitude rather than anything else. If I can just make it to Christmas... :)
