For once I'm finding it quite hard to think of anything to write. This isn't because I have nothing to write about or have done nothing recently; it's just that I am finding it hard to think about what keys I'm actually going to press on the keyboard.
I guess this is because my brain is merely functioning and not in a creative state. I'm definitely not asleep or even feeling tired but I'm definitely not awake. It's like being in that place just after you wake up before your brain kicks in. The thing is I've felt a bit like this for the last two days. Oh well.
I guess it is safest to recount things going backwards in time starting from now. Work has been busy but ultimately pretty dull these last few work days. I did very little on Sunday except get very sore and get aching muscles playing a mammoth badminton session in the evening.
On Saturday I went to a Bryan Adams concert in Hyde Park. Bryan Adams was in a very rocky kind of mood. I went with Del, the weather was good and fun was had by both of us. The support bands for the record were Delerious and Vega4. I hadn't heard of either of them before last week.
On Friday I had wanted to go to Basildon to see Tim playing at a Jumpin Jaks venue. However research during the week revealed that the location was miles away from any public transport and that not a great deal of people were going so getting a lift was going to be difficult. I did very little on Friday night in the end.
I don't really remember much about the week. I know there were a lot of us playing badminton but the week seemed to go so fast that it seems like a blur. Actually I do remember Thursday all to well. There was a tube strike in London. I came to work by train to Liverpool Street, walking to Waterloo where I got a train to Wandsworth Town station and then got a C3 bus. That went quite well. It was the evening trip that proved to be the nightmare. I got on the number 11 in Fulham at the first bus stop on the route and didn't get off until the last stop. I don't think I have ever gone one end of a bus route to another in central London. However when I got to Liverpool Street the trains on the Great Eastern Line were all messed up so I ended walking to Fenchurch Street getting a train there and then getting a bus from Barking. All in all a nightmare of a journey.
Actually I went to the dentist last week as well. There was a bit of a mix up as to what time I was supposed to be there but I think everything is fine. I will find out soon if it isn't I'm sure.
And I think that is about it. Kimberley is leaving the office for good today. I'll miss her as we were kindred spirits, both often given seemingly impossible tasks with seemingly impossible deadlines, but just about coming through. Should have a drink to wish her well this evening.
And that as they say is about all we have to report. Tune in again for more of my exciting life at another time :)
